CANDLELIGHT VIGIL FOR THE EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS

The year of 2008 has been anticipated to be a glorious year for China, partly because of the Olympics. Yet, on May 12th, 2008, at Beijing local time 14:28pm, a major earthquake of 7.8 magnitude devastated the southwestern part of China. In a matter of seconds, more than 14,000 people have already lost their lives, and the death toll is still mounting...

So please, my dear friends, give your support, and show your love. Let's get together to pray, to mourn, or just to say goodbye to those innocent people died in that earthquake.

TIME: 8:30pm to 10pm, Friday, May 16, 2008

LOCATION: Court of science (Between Young Hall and Boelter Hall)

NOTICE:

1. Please dress in PLAIN clothes with SUBDUED colors (preferably DARK);

2. We encourage you to bring along candles and matches;

3. Video taping and photographing are welcomed;

4. We will also accept check and cash donation on site (receipt will be provided). All the donation would first be transferred to Chinese Consulate General and then go to Chinese Education Development Fund, and would be completely, straightly, and strictly used to build the schools, and cover the education fees for the children in the affected areas.
