CSSA-UCLA is holding the 2008-09 OPEN campaign for the PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION. We are calling for candidates! YOU can be the next CSSA president!
CSSA-UCLA (Chinese Students and Scholars Association at UCLA, http://cssa.ucla.edu/) is one of the largest unions of Chinese students and scholars in the U.S. It has been serving its members with excellence for years. To ensure the continuing growth of CSSA, we are looking for presidential candidates with vision, leadership, experience and dedication!
Eligibilities:
1) Current Chinese student or scholar at UCLA and will be present at UCLA at least 1 year.
2) Signing Letter of candidacy interest. The letter can be downloaded from here:
http://cssa.ucla.edu/UserFiles/candidacy-interest.doc
3) Endorsement by a minimum of 20 CSSA-UCLA members currently at UCLA. The endorsement form is included below or can be downloaded from http://cssa.ucla.edu/UserFiles/presidential-endorsement.doc
Responsibilities:
1) Abide by CSSA-UCLA By-Law at http://cssa.ucla.edu/cssa/organization/by-law.asp
2) Representing and protecting the interests and rights of CSSA-UCLA members
3) Initiating activities, organizing events and providing services for CSSA-UCLA members
4) Promoting mutual understanding and cultural exchanges between CSSA-UCLA and other parties
5) Coordinating among CSSA-UCLA departments
Election procedures (go to http://cssa.ucla.edu/cssa/organization/by-law.asp for details):
1) Submission of letter of candidacy interest and endorsement by current CSSA members (minimum 20) to the election committee before Monday, June 2, 2006.
NOTE: Please submit the above materials in person to only one of a) Peng Wang (ryan3132@(protected))
2) Submission of resume and campaign statement to the election committee at cssa.ucla.president.election@(protected).
3) Presentation of campaign statement and on-site voting by CSSA members on Thursday, June 5, 2008 (Precise time and location to be announced).
4) Announcement of election result on Friday, June 6, 2008.
