Title: April 25, 2009 47th CESASC Convention

On April 25, 2009 at Hilton Los Angeles Airport, an exciting whole day
event will be held for the 47th anniversary of the Chinese-American
Engineers and Scientists Association of Southern California (CESASC).

The event includes a luncheon, a Technical Symposium, and a Convention
dinner banquet.

Ms. Sue Van, CEO, Wallace H. Coulter Foundation will be our keynote
speaker at the luncheon session. She will introduce some of their
Foundation programs in the US and in China.

Technical Symposium (12:45 – 4 pm) are cosponsored with four other
professional associations (CAPS, SCCAEPA, CCA, and ICTPA-SC) and
features more than a dozen presentations that cover a wide variety of
hot topics:

- High Tech and Space Exploration
- Climate Changes and Environmental Challenges
- Financial Crisis, Economic Recession and Opportunities
- Graduate student’s Poster presentations sharing their updated
research results in Biology, EE, and Chemistry, etc.

The Convention Banquet has always been a highlight of the event.
CESASC will recognize distinguished Chinese-Americans engineers and
scientists who have made significant contributions and achievements to
major US industries and world science and technology advances.

The evening will start around 5:30pm for social networking and silent auction.

At 7:30pm, Wintek Chair Professor Frank Chang of UCLA EE Department,
Academician of the US National Academy of Engineering, and this year
CESASC Achievement Award Winner will deliver a keynote speech on
Seeing A Hidden World through Tera-Hertz Imaging.

Six outstanding students will be awarded with CESASC scholarship this
year. The evening also features fine entertainments including soprano
solo, yangqin performance and folk dance.

The evening will be concluded with a dancing party for those you like
to show your new moves you learned and how do you do exercise on the
floor with nice music.

The lunch ticket is $20 (or $10 for students and those attending the
dinner banquet). The afternoon seminars, panels, and press conference
are free. The Convention dinner banquet ticket is $70.

The venue is Hilton Los Angeles Airport at 5711 W. Century Blvd., Los
Angeles, CA 90045. Use hotel self-parking garage for parking. Pick up
a parking voucher for discounted $9 per day self-parking at the CESASC
event registration desks. Lunch and Technical Symposium attendees will
get discounted $5 per day self-parking voucher if they arrive before
1:30pm.
