FANG, Cong(Cathy) - Ph.D. Research Scientist, Cynvenio Biosystems LLC.
Cathy graduated from department of molecular and medical pharmacology in March, 2010, and she took a position of research scientist at Cynvenio Biosystems LLC. Currently she is working on microfluidic-chip based project for cancer diagnosis and treatment, and this project has a $4M contract with Novartis(NVS).
JIA, PENGCHENG - Chief Technology Officer, CAP Wireless, Inc. Department of Electrical Engineering, UCSB
Pengcheng Jia received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering in 2002 from the University of California at Santa Barbara. Dr. Jia is currently the Chief Technology Officer of CAP Wireless, Inc. He has developed a patented spatial power combining technology and created a new family of broadband high power amplifier products. Dr. Jia has won many research grants from the US government, including Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) phase I, II and III, and has led CAP Wireless’s engineering team to develop many innovative broadband power amplifier products with industry leading performance. Dr. Jia is Vice Present of CAST-USA and CAST Los Angles Chapter. He is also a senior member of IEEE.
LU, YUNYE, MBA, UCLA Anderson School of Management
Yunye obtained both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Electrical Engineering from Shanghai JiaoTong University. He worked at Broadcom Shanghai office for 5 years. Yunye took a career transition and joined Principle Capital, which is a PE firm under Fosun Group. Right now he is at UCLA Anderson to pursue his MBA's degree. For the last summer, Yunye did his summer internship at VantagePoint Venture Partners.
YU, HOWIE - IS Analyst, Amgen Inc. Department of Computer Science, UCLA
Howie Yu graduated from UCLA in 2003 with his MS degree in CS database. He is the IS analyst for data validation in research and preclinical IS at Amgen. He was the administrator of the scientific data management system and became the technical lead and global resource of the project for all sites. His tasks includes gathering information from scientists/groups, establishing a data management solution based on the nature of their experiment, setting up data management procedure for IT support group, and providing technical advice both for the IT support group and scientist group. Prior to this position, he worked for the PDS library project at SEAS lab.
