1. 【剑桥明日中国论坛】报名开始

亲爱的会员们我们有幸邀请到贺卫方,陈有西和于建嵘三位学者于2013127号来剑桥举办剑桥明日中国论坛,三位名家将就公民社会,城市化发展将对中国社会产生如何深远影响,中国政治制度,司法体制如何发展各抒己见并与在座的学生学者进行直接得交流. 希望各位会员华人学生,学者踊跃报名参加。

【人物简介】

贺卫方

贺卫方,北京大学法学院教授。自1992年起,他就呼吁和致力于中国法律体系的改革和现代化。其著作包括,《司法理念和制度》和《运送正义的方式》等等。同时担任北京大学司法研究中心主任,兼任全国外国法制史学会副会长,中国法学会比较法学研究会副会长等社会职务。网名守门老鹤。2001年第一期《中国青年》把他列为“将影响21世纪中国的100个青年人”之一。

于建嵘

于建嶸,中国社会科学院农村发展研究所研究员、社会问题研究中心主任。他研究大陆社会问题多年,在学术界和底层民众中很有声望。于建嶸于2011125日在新浪微博建立“随手拍照解救乞讨儿童”的微博账户, 迅速引起社会各界关注。著作颇丰,有《抗争性政治:中国政治社会学基本问题》、《漂移的社会-农民工张全收和他的事业》、《中国工人阶级状况:安源实录》和《中国当代农民的维权抗争:湖南衡阳考察》等书。20123月于起草了“必由之路——未来十年中国社会和政治发展纲要”,其中他提出废除信访制度,打破"农业人口""非农业人口"的户口界限等建议, 以及第二阶段的民主宪制转型。于建嶸被网民推选为2010中国互联网九大风云人物。对于中国的转变, 于敢于提出非常针对性的看法,因此在2012年他被《外交》杂志评为“2012全球思考家”。

陈有西

陈有西,中国人民大学律师学院、上海交通大学法学院兼职教授,法律硕士导师。中华全国律师协会宪法人权委员会副主任、知识产权委员会委员、宣传联络委员会委员,中国法学会法律文书委员会理事。京衡律师集团董事长兼主任,一级律师。主要著作有《定罪量刑指南》、《反不正当竞争法律适用概论》、《变革时代的法律秩序》、《知识产权法》等,其个人网站《陈有西学术网》是中国法律人博客点击量最高的网站,20125月已达4500余万人次。

郭之天 (剑桥社会学系PhD)

本演讲为您介绍关于四川凉山彝族自治州的文化和政治。取材于深入的田野调查,郭之天的研究不仅细致描述了当地基层干部对少数民族政策的落实情况,而且探讨了在少数民族问题非常复杂的当下,一个既能保持区域自治又能较好处理与主流汉族文化关系的案例对当代中国社会的积极意义。

(2)羊和人:从史前根源的上万年互动史 – 从一个动物考古学 的角度

我们现在的生活中离不开陪伴我们的动物,其中,羊是重要的一种-为我们提供毛,奶,肉,并成为我们的伴侣。而当今人和羊密不可分的关系源自于上万年前的驯化和史前的人群和物种的迁徙,传播的历史。本演讲为您讲述考古学视角下人与羊之间从史前开始的故事。

3.Chinese New Year event at Trinity Hall】(Sir David Brewer

On February 12th we have a very high profile Chinese New Year event at Trinity Hall, University of Cambridge organised by UK Trade & Investment, the China-Britain Business Council and Asia House. We start at 14.30 with a business seminar which will include senior executives from companies and organisations with close affinities with Cambridge and China.

After the seminar Sir David Brewer, Chairman of the China-Britain Business Council, will deliver a New Year lecture with his views and insight on the UK-China relationship. This will be followed by a panel discussion chaired by Hugh Davies CMG, Chairman of the China Association. A networking reception follows until 18.30.

Sir John Boyd (Chairman) and Michael Lawrence (CEO) of Asia House will also feature at the event.

At 19.00 there will be a VIP dinner for the event speakers, supporters and sponsors followed by an after dinner discussion featuring the event speakers. The dinner venue is the Wordsworth Room at St Johns College, where William Wordsworth lived in the 1780s. This will be a very special occasion as use of this historic room is only granted for specific and relevant uses. (Sir John Boyd is a Trustee of the Wordsworth Trust).

Event discussion themes will include Smart Cities (300 eco cities are being planned in China) and how Cambridge / UK companies of all sizes can work with global companies such as Asia Info Linkage and find new business in China. AsiaInfo Linkage are leading provider of software solutions and IT services for telecoms and other industries with 10,000 staff in China and are currently setting up their European HQ in Cambridge which will be the hub of their expansion plans for the UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). A senior executive from AsiaInfo Linkage will speak at the afternoon seminar and join the discussion at the VIP dinner.

Dr Wei Yang, the newly appointed industry co-Chair of the UK-China Eco Cities and Green Building Group is also confirmed to speak, Wei is a leading expert in this rapidly growing arena has spoken on numerous international stages including the UK Prime Ministers visit to China and Chinese Vice Premiers visit to the UK and were delighted shes found time in her busy international schedule to join us in Cambridge on Feb 12.
